I asked Yosephina to rewrite an artist statement that reads: I am interested in symbolically representing themes of a personal nature – desire, loss, cruelty, memory, sexuality, and love. Yosephina and I played with the act of writing; for example: by having Yosephina close her eyes when she was writing a word or using the other hand to write. The rewriting of a serious artist statement became a fun game and activity of mark making.
